Actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson and his husband Justin Mikita will be honoured for their Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) advocacy in Los Angeles next month (Sep16).
The Modern Family star and his husband of three years are this year's recipients of the Los Angeles LGBT Center's Vanguard Award.
Together the couple co-founded Tie the Knot, an organisation which creates and sells limited-edition bow ties to help benefit LGBT organisations around the world. Since launching in 2012, they have raised more than $500,000 (£380,800) for equal rights charities.
In addition, lawyer Mikita is the co-founder of bedding company Thread Experiment, which donates high-quality linens for the homeless youth who sleep on the LA LGBT Center's beds.
Previous recipients of the accolade include Neil Patrick Harris and his husband David Burtka, Elton John, Lily Tomlin, George Takei, and Miley Cyrus, who was last year's (16) honouree.
Ferguson and Mikita will be honoured at the organisation's 47th Anniversary Gala Vanguard Awards on 24 September (16) in West Hollywood, California.
