The upcoming season of Jersey Shore will be it's last, reports MTV.com. The Network announced the news yesterday.
Fans of Jersey Shore will be disappointed that the new season, it's 6th series will be its last. The hugely popular reality TV show had been a real ratings winner for Mtv, becoming it's most watched show, but since the heights of 8 million views per episode in the early seasons, those figures have dropped to 5 million, and the network have decided to call it a day. The last season starts this October, before everyone goes their separate ways.
Cast members Nicole Polizzi, Mike Sorrentino, Jenni Farley, Paul Delvecchio, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, Samantha "Sammie Sweetheart" Giancola and Vinny Guadagnino shot to fame in the first season. Perhaps the most successful was Pauly D, who carved out a successful career as a DJ. The financial site Forbes.com estimated him to be worth $11m, which puts him near the top in the pantheon of highly paid DJ's. He was also the first Jersey Shore housemate to receive his own spin-off, The Pauly D Project, which followed him around the world in his DJ career. The Situation also made the most of his reality TV fame, but earlier this year, the reality star entered rehab to deal with prescription-medication addiction before filming the final season.
