Movie mogul Jerry Weintraub has been hailed a hero in Beverly Hills after saving a man's life in a medical emergency.
The legendary producer and his girlfriend Susie Elkins visited the Barneys New York department store in Los Angeles this week (beg10May10) for the unveiling of a window display designed in his honour.
But the pair was shocked to find one of his friends collapsed on the sidewalk outside - Weintraub immediately called paramedics and comforted the unnamed victim, who is believed to have suffered heart troubles, until an ambulance arrived.
A source tells New York Post gossip column Page Six, "The man was having heart issues and had collapsed. Amazingly, it was somebody that Weintraub had known for 40 years. Weintraub and Elkins called paramedics and comforted the man, who was rushed to the hospital and has fortunately recovered."
Weintraub adds, "God put in the windows and sent me to see them exactly at that time, not a coincidence."
