The curtain is to come down on the classic production on 3 May (15) after more than five decades on stage in New York City.

The Fantasticks holds a world record for its stint at the Sullivan Street Playhouse in Manhattan, where it played for 42 years after its premiere in 1960. It later moved to the Jerry Orbach Theater, named after the late Law & Order actor who was part of the original cast.

Other stars have appeared in the show over the years including Liza Minnelli, Glenn Close, Kristin Chenoweth and Aaron Carter.
