The Avengers star filed for divorce from Sonni Pacheco in December, 2014 after only 10 months of marriage and the estranged couple were embroiled in an acrimonious custody battle for their daughter Ava, now three years old.

The divorce was finalised last year (15) and they agreed to share custody while Jeremy would pay child support but no spousal support, but their legal battle kicked off again in July (16) when Sonni accused him of falling behind on his payments, which Jeremy denied.

The 45-year-old was paying $13,000 (£9,700) a month in child support but Sonni wanted more, and they have now agreed Jeremy will pay $16,000 (£12,000) monthly, according to TMZ.com. The actor will reportedly also pay $24,000 (£18,000) to her lawyer and accountant.

In July (16), a representative for Jeremy issued a statement accusing Sonni of making up the non-payment allegations to maximise the money she receives for her own benefit, rather than her daughter's.

"He has unequivocally never fallen behind on child support payments - this year he has paid several hundreds of thousands of dollars for his young daughter's child support and well-being," the rep told the New York Daily News. "He (Jeremy) is a loving, attentive and caring father who moves his work schedule around to maximize his time with his daughter Ava... His ex continues on a quest of trying to publicly demean the actor and extricate him from as much money as she can for her sole benefit."

Sonni also accused him of failing to pay half of the fees for Ava's pre-school tuition, but he claimed that was never part of the divorce settlement.
