Jeremy Kyle, the British television personality best known for hosting 'The Jeremy Kyle Show' on Itv1, is set to make the move from mornings to evenings when he hosts a new game-show titled 'High Stakes', reports the UK's Metro newspaper.
The presenter, who has garnered both praise and heavy criticism for his television hosting style, will present the new game-show which combines physical skill with general knowledge. The programme, set to launch later this year, will offer a prize fund of 500k. Speaking of his involvement in the new show, Kyle said, "I am hugely excited to be hosting this brand new quiz show. It's a totally new format". It will be the host's first foray into the game-show world, having made his name as the confrontational host of his own reality talk show. The new programme is billed as a game of "knowledge, risk and tension", with contestants expected to answer questions and avoid "traps".
Jeremy Kyle began his career as a salesman in radio advertising, before briefly presenting shows in Leicester and Birmingham. He moved to Virgin Radio in 2002, presenting his 'Jezza's Virgin Confessions' every weeknight. He met his current wife, Carla Germaine whilst presenting a radio competition named 'Two Strangers and a Wedding'.
