The Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice actor returned to his alma mater, the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in England, to celebrate the school's 250th anniversary and star in a production of the play earlier this year (16).

Irons was thrilled to tread the stage and he has now revealed producers are planning to bring the production Stateside in 2018.

"It's the oldest theatre... in Bristol," he told U.S. morning show Live! with Kelly on Friday (28Oct16). "It's the most beautiful thing, it's a jewel box of a theatre, it's a wonderful theatre. We did Long Day's Journey into Night by Eugene O'Neill, one of your greatest playwrights. Very long, three-and-a-half hours it was..."

"It was huge fun to do it and I hope we're going to bring it here in 2018," he continued. "Here to New York and then to Los Angeles. It's a wonderful play."
