Jennifer Nettles is set to perform with Rihanna tonight in Las Vegas for an awards ceremony.

Jennifer Nettles, half of country and western duo Sugarland, is said to be 'thrilled' with the news she and Rihanna will perform 'California King Bed' at the Annual Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards this evening (3rd April 2011).

The ceremony, which will take place at the world-famous MGM Grand on the Vegas strip, will feature some of the biggest and most successful names in country music. According to Ace Showbiz there is set to be live performances from other high-profile artists such as Taylor Swift and Keith Urban.

Nettles, talking to American Idol presenter Ryan Seacrest on his radio show last week, explained: "We're just big fans of each other, and so we wanted to do something that was fun and different and fresh and I reached out to her and said, 'Hey, anything you want to do?' and she said, 'I have this song that specifically I would love to do with you,' and I said, 'Yes ma'am, we will do it.'"

Rihanna, meanwhile, has taken to social networking site Twitter to update her fans, exclaiming that she was 'so bloody excited to be performing,' adding 'what an honour!' She also posted up a picture of herself and Nettles in rehearsals this afternoon, calling the country star her 'boo.'
