He posted a photo of him backstage with Lopez on Facebook, adding the caption, "Rock N Roll...give it up for Jen. Gotta love her."

Lopez has previously stated how much both the film and the artist herself affected her life, and how Selena's family will always be important to her.

"The impact that it had on my life, my career, it was a great thing for her to be my mentor in a way and to teach me so much about how to navigate this business, but also how to navigate through life," Lopez previously told U.S. breakfast show The Today Show. "It's a sad story, it still gets me to this day because it really did mark my life at that time, and to get to know the family and work with them, it really was an important time in my life. It still is - and it's 20 years later."

Selena was shot and killed by Yolanda Saldivar, the president of her fan club, on 31 March, 1995.
