A driver who allegedly slammed into the back of Jennifer Lopez's car earlier this year (14) has been charged with two counts of driving under the influence.

The Booty hitmaker was waiting at a traffic light with her pal Leah Remini and their children when Robert John Reitz reportedly crashed into the rear end of her vehicle in September (14).

The driver is said to have left the scene of the accident before police arrived to investigate, but he was later apprehended and arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence (Dui) and hit and run.

Los Angeles County authorities have now determined Reitz's blood alcohol level was nearly twice the legal limit at the time of the accident, and have filed charges against him, according to Tmz.com.

If convicted, Reitz faces six months in jail and a $1,000 (£625) fine.

Lopez previously revealed her party was uninjured, but "a little shook up" after the crash, which occurred as they were heading to a Demi Lovato concert in Los Angeles.

The superstar is mother to six-year-old twins, Max and Emme, while Remini has a 10-year-old daughter named Sofia.
