Jennifer Lawrence ''works obsessively''.

The 'Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2' actress doesn't want to be overworked but finds herself ''going crazy'' if she hasn't got a goal to achieve so does her best to use her free time to try and further her career.

She said: ''The job is so full on. If you are working, it's 13-16 hours every single day and in a strange city where you don't know anybody.

''Then you wrap and you've got all this time off.

''It's hard to find a balance because you go from being overworked and all, 'Oh my God, I need time off. I'm so exhausted. My body!'

''Then you get time off and your mind is going crazy. I hate waking up without a goal and going to sleep without achieving anything.

''So now I just work obsessively. On weekends, I meet with directors and pitch myself.''

Jennifer admits she was worried about how ''overwhelming'' working on the 'Hunger Games' franchise would be but is happy she's done it as she thinks that Katniss Everdeen is the ''greatest female character ever''.

She told heat magazine: ''I was very aware of how overwhelming these movies and this character was, and that was a big fear of mine signing onto the movies.

''I want people to be able to lose themselves when they are watching the movie.

''This character, however, is remarkable and, in my opinion, I think she's the greatest female character ever, so I wasn't too mad at that.''
