Jennifer Lawrence has been named 2014's highest grossing actor after bringing in $1.4 billion (£900 million) at the global box office.

The Oscar winner was named the highest earning actor of the year by Forbes magazine due to her roles in blockbusters The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 and X-Men: Days Of Future Past.

Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt came in second with $1.2 billion (£771 million) in global grosses thanks to his part in the Marvel hit and animated comedy The Lego Movie.

Scarlet Johansson was not far behind bringing in $1.18 billion (£758 million) mostly from her superhero sequel Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Rounding out the top five was Transformers: Age Of Extinction star Mark Wahlberg with $1 billion (£642 million) and Johansson's co-star Chris Evans with $801 million (£515 million) in fourth and fifth respectively.
