It looks as though Harvey Weinstein is keen to hang onto the talent that is Jennifer Lawrence . The Hunger Games star has been tipped to take a lead role in the Weinstein Company's forthcoming movie 'The Ends of the Earth' and according to the ScriptShadow blog, it's a film with serious Oscar potential. They've had a sneak peek at the script and commented "I could go on for years about this script. This is a wonderful screenplay and I'm hoping they get it cast soon because with the right actors and the right director, this has "Oscar" and "classic" written all over it."
Indiewire blog have reported that Lawrence is a likely candidate for the lead role of Lydie Marland, who is described as "the adopted daughter of oil tycoon Ernest Marland, who cared for the child when his destitute brother was unable. She was a well known socialite who also pushed her husband to raise worker wages and provide healthcare, but when her husband's company was acquired in a hostile takeover, he lost much of his wealth. The pair stayed married as the embarked on a political career, but he passed away in 1941 and for the rest of her life, she mostly lived as a recluse."
The movie has been written by Chris Terrio and has clearly impressed some industry insiders - can Jennifer Lawrence be the acting talent required to bring home the Oscar glory that the movie has been tipped for? The Weinstein company yet to find a director for the film and they will need to seal that deal pretty soon if they want to stay on course for a summer 2013 shoot.
