Jennifer Lawrence considered turning her back on acting when she first rose to fame, because she prefers to be "invisible" in life.
The 20 year old shot into the spotlight with her part in last year's (10) Winter's Bone, which won her an Academy Award nomination, and she has since gone on to land roles in X-Men: First Class and The Hunger Games opposite Liam Hemsworth.
But Lawrence has struggled to adjust to the sudden interest in her personal life and considered sticking to smaller films or a career behind the camera to avoid the attention.
She tells Britain's Marie Claire magazine, "People started talking to me differently and I couldn't stand that. I'd go to parties where I used to be invisible and off the record... now everybody's watching and listening.
"There was a weird element and I wondered whether I wanted to be a director or just do indie films."
