Jennifer Jason Leigh, the 48-year-old American actress best known for her role in the movie 'Single White Female', has filed for divorce from her filmmaker husband Noah Baumbach just seven month after giving birth to their first child, reports the UK's Daily Mail.
Although details surrounding the split are currently unclear, Leigh filed the divorce papers at the Los Angeles Superior Court on November 15th 2010 and cited 'irreconcilable differences' as the reason for seeking to end the couple's five year relationship. 48-year-old Leigh, real name JENNIFER MORROW, gave birth to the couple's son seven months ago and she is seeking alimony and primary custody of the child. The couple first met back in 2001 while Leigh worked on a Broadway production of the play 'Proof'. Soon after their wedding in 2005, the director said, "I expect to be with Leigh for the rest of my life", and the pair recently collaborated on the indie-comedy film 'Greenburg' starring Ben Stiller.
In 1982, Leigh's father was tragically killed when a helicopter stunt on the set of the movie 'Twilight Zone' went wrong. A lawsuit against Warner Brothers and Steven Spielberg ensued and both sides eventually settled out of court for an undisclosed sum. Most recently, the actress appeared in the hit US sitcom 'Weeds', alongside MARY LOUISE PARKER.
