Singer/actress Jennifer Hudson walked out of an Illinois courtroom on Tuesday (24Apr12) when grisly police photographs depicting the brutal murders of her mother, brother and nephew were shown to the jury.
The Oscar winner opened the trial of suspected killer William Balfour with testimony on Monday (23Apr12), and she returned to court on Tuesday as the case continued.
She closed her eyes as she forced herself to sit through painful testimony from the police officer who found her slain relatives at their family home, but Hudson couldn't watch as prosecutors showed the jury graphic crime scene photos - and she left the courtroom shortly before the presentation began.
The Dreamgirls star also stayed away as a forensic expert told the court that her mother Darnell had most likely used a broom to try and fight off her killer.
Balfour, the estranged husband of Hudson's older sister Julia, has pleaded not guilty to murdering Hudson's mum, brother and seven-year-old nephew Julian King - his stepson. The child's body was found three days later in an abandoned Suv (Sports Utility Vehicle).
The case continues.
