Grieving singer/actress Jennifer Hudson has expressed her gratitude for four Grammy award nominations - telling fans succeeding as a recording artist was her "childhood dream".
The Oscar winner was named as the recipient of a clutch of nominations at the upcoming February (09) ceremony - for best R+B album for her eponymous debut, best female R+B vocal performance, best R+B song for Spotlight, and best R+B performance by a duo for her track with fellow former American Idol contestant Fantasia.
The announcement came on Thursday (04Dec08), in the same week her former brother-in-law William Balfour was charged with the October (08) murders of her mother, brother and seven-year-old nephew.
In a statement, Hudson says, "It's been a childhood dream of mine to release an album so to receive four Grammy nominations is truly a blessing. I'm extremely honored and humbled by the nominations."
