Jennifer Hudson feels closer than ever to her late mother - one year after she was killed in a tragic shooting.
The Spotlight hitmaker was devastated when her mother, Darnell, and brother, Jason, were found shot dead at their home in Chicago, Illinois last October (08). The body of her seven-year-old nephew, her sister's son Julian, was found in an abandoned car three days later.
Hudson managed to bounce back with a return to the limelight just three months later, crediting her Christian faith with helping her cope with the loss.
Now she's branded Darnell her guardian angel - because she senses her mum everywhere she goes.
When asked if she still feels her mother's presence, Hudson replied, "Oh my God, yeah. Definitely. Wherever. Every day I'm like, 'Wow! I didn't realise I was so like my mother until now', you know? She was the strongest person, woman, I've ever seen."
