The man accused of slaying Jennifer Hudson's mother, brother and nephew has been granted permission to move to another jail in Illinois. William Balfour, the estranged husband of the Oscar winner's sister Julia, is the prime suspect in the October (08) murders, which left the singer/actress mourning the loss of her mum Darnell Donerson, brother Jason Hudson and seven-year-old nephew Julian King.
The 27-year-old pleaded not guilty to charges of first degree murder and home invasion last week (20Jan09).
His attorney Joshua Kutick appeared at Cook County Criminal Court on Tuesday (27Jan09) when Judge Marjorie Laws granted Balfour permission to transfer from the Stateville Correctional Center near Joliet, Illinois - where he has been held without bond since his December (08) arrest - to the state's Cook County Jail, to ease the consultation process.
Laws also scheduled Balfour's next court hearing for 23 February (09).
