Jennifer Grey, the American actress who starred as 'Frances 'Baby' Houseman' in 'Dirty Dancing' has spoken of her excitement for a remake of the classic movie, reports the Wall Street Journal. Grey gained a Golden Globe nomination for her role alongside Patrick Swayze in the 1987 movie.
The actress, who became the winner of Dancing With The Stars in 2010, says she is not disappointed by news of the remake, tweeting, "I love Kenny Ortega and trust that he will do something special". Lionsgate recently announced it would remake the film with original choreographer Ortega directing, however, there is no news on who will be cast in the roles played by Swayze and Grey. The actress, who became a household name following her appearance in the flick, also released a statement saying, "I'm so excited about this news and I think there's nobody better to do this than my beloved Kenny Ortega who is as responsible as anyone for the success of the first one." Not everybody welcomed the news with open arms - some fans on Twitter felt a remake of the movie was unnecessary.
As for who will take the lead roles - early indications suggest the likes of Julianne Hough could be considered for Grey's role, while fans of the actor Ryan Gosling have been calling for his inclusion.
