American Pie actress Jennifer Coolidge is swapping big screen comedy for the stand-up circuit.
The 47-year-old blonde, famous for her role as Stifler's Mom in the teen movie series, is returning to her improvisation roots from her time in Los Angeles theatre group the Groundlings to launch her own comedy club act.
Coolidge will embark on an international tour with her Yours For The Night shows, but admits she is terrified the routine won't prove popular.
She tells the Sydney Morning Herald, "I have the improv (sic) background but stand-up is different. If you're playing a character that someone doesn't like, that's okay, but if you're voicing your own opinions they actually don't like you! It definitely feels a little more dangerous.
"It's really different from TV and film. I don't know how long I'm going to do it but it's a great change and I get to see the world - 99 per cent of movies are made in L.A. and stand-up gigs are all out of L.A. or out even out of the country. It's really fun in that way.''
