Jennifer Aniston watched on as her new screenwriter-beau Justin Theroux made a successful bid of $450,000 for an abstract painting at a Christie's auction in New York City on Thursday (22nd September 2011). Aniston attended the 'Artists for Haiti' event with Theroux, who helped the actress land the piece by American artist Glenn Ligon.
According to website Artinfo.com, Jennifer "clapped enthusiastically after Theroux's winning bid". The successful bid of $450,000 for the 72" piece made from oil, charcoal and graphite on canvas, smashed the record for sales of Ligon's work. The charity auction, organised by the Hollywood star Ben Stiller and the art dealer David Zwirner, raised a huge $13 million in total. The comedic actor and his wife Christine Taylor were spotted hanging out with Theroux and Aniston after their record breaking bid. The couples dined at Il Cantinori for a late dinner, with a source telling U.S Weekly Magazine, "They seemed to be having a lot of fun with Ben and his wife, like old friends. Ben paid for everyone". Stiller starred opposite Jennifer in 'Along Came Polly' and co-wrote award winning comedy 'Tropic Thunder' with Theroux.
Aniston, rated by Forbes as one of the Top 10 richest women in entertainment, has a net worth of around $110 million. She began dating Theorux in May 2011 after meeting on the set of comedy 'Wanderlust'.
