Jennie Garth ''did not hit it off'' with fiancé David Abrams right away.
The 43-year-old actress, who got engaged in April after just five months of dating, admits she almost skipped their first blind date because she wasn't looking for a boyfriend at the time.
The former 'Beverly Hills 90210' star said: ''I wasn't looking at all, in fact I didn't even want to go on the date with him and he didn't even want to go on a date with me. We went out on a blind double date with another friend of his and we did not hit it off right away. He was like tall and handsome and perfect, and I thought that's exactly what I don't want.''
But the blonde beauty claims she knew later that night that she wanted to spend the rest of her life with David.
She added: ''Seriously one date in. I am glowing, I feel really happy.''
Jennie, who has daughters Luca, 17, Lola, 12, and Fiona, eight, with ex-husband Peter Facinelli, is planning to tie the knot ''soon.''
Asked if her children will be involved, she told 'Access Hollywood Live': ''They are definitely a part of everything. They are going be my wedding party. It's going to be special and sweet.''
David has formed a close bond with her girls.
She said: ''You have to find a very special, open man and he loves taking the girls to school and being a part of their life.
''He loves kids, he's great with kids, he's very respectful and treats them like little people.''
