Following a hugely successful stadium tour in the pair's native US, Jay Z and Kanye West were afforded an equally rapturous reception as they brought their 'Watch The Throne' collaboration to the UK, having played two nights in the capital city's O2 Arena, and if the thought of seeing two of the biggest rappers currently in the game on stage together was almost too much for some people, imagine the spectacle of one of the globe's largest pop stars Rihanna joining them for a couple of tracks.
That's exactly what happened, according to the NME, with RiRi stepping out to join West for his 2010 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy' track 'All Of The Lights,' and Hova's 'Run This Town.' The 23 year-old doesn't appear on the 'Watch The Throne' album, but has collaborated numerous times with Jigga and Yeezy and so her appearance wasn't completely out of leftfield, although it certainly stunned those in attendance on the Sunday night (May 20, 2012) - the third of five dates being played at the O2 before they head off to Europe.
With tickets priced at 62 pounds, before booking fee, it certainly wasn't cheap to see Ye and Izzo, but fans more than got their money's worth with the couple performing two hour sets and cramming some 40 songs into each on all three nights so far, mixing a collection of 'Watch The Throne' material with highlights from each of their respective back catalogues.
