Hip-hop superstar Jay Z thrilled fans by bringing Linkin Park rapper Mike Shinoda onstage with him at the South by Southwest (Sxsw) Music Festival in Texas on Monday (12Mar12).
The Big Pimpin' hitmaker took song requests for the gig in Austin from followers on Twitter.com and broadcast the performance live on the internet.
Rolling Stone magazine recruited Shinoda to cover the innovative event by writing live tweets, in which he shared pictures, the setlist and even his own video footage of Jay Z.
However, Shinoda was forced to ditch his journalism job when Jay Z invited him onstage.
He later tweeted, "Got a shout out from the stage. Thanks Jay Z (And thx (thanks) for letting me be your Rolling Stone journalist for the evening)... That's enough Rolling Stone live-tweeting for me. Back to real life, and working on the Linkin Park album."
