Plans to fuse Jay-Z's Black Album with the Beatles classic White Album has been blocked by record giants EMI.

The GREY ALBUM - which was created by DJ DANGERMOUSE - had only been distributed to independent stores as a one-off limited edition, but it soon won popularity and has been sold in hip-hop stores and online auction site EBAY.

But EMI - who control some of the LET IT BE group's sound recordings - issued both Dangermouse and some stores with cease-and-desist orders, threatening legal action.

Dangermouse says he has complied with EMI's request and hoped there would be no further action due to the small number of copies available.
