Jay-Z will score 'The Great Gatsby'.
The iconic rapper - real name Sean Carter - has teamed up with music producer The Bullitts to produce several tracks for the soundtrack of the Baz Luhrmann-directed period drama which is due for release later this year.
Jeymes Samuel of The Bullitts confirmed the news via his Twitter account.
He wrote: ''Jay-Z and myself have been working tirelessly on the score for the upcoming #CLASSIC 'The Great Gatsby'! It is too DOPE for words!''
'The Great Gatsby' is an adaptation of the 1925 F. Scott Fitzgerald novel of the same name about a young man, Nick Carraway (played by 'Spider-Man' star Tobey Maguire) whose fortunes change after meeting the enigmatic Jay Gatsby (Leonardo Dicaprio).
Although the costume drama is set during the Roaring Twenties in New York City, it was filmed in Lurhmann's native Australia on a budget of $125 million.
As well as 'The Great Gatsby', Jay-Z is set to produce and score a remake of the musical 'Annie' starring Willow Smith.
