LATEST: The legal battle over credits on Jason Priestley's new comedy DIE, MOMMIE, DIE has ended, after a judge ruled in favour of the movie's distributors.
Playwright CHARLES CASILLO insists the movie - which stars the film's credited writer Charles Busch in the lead role - is based on his play ONE NIGHT STAND IN A LONELY HOTEL, and demanded to be mentioned on promotional material for the picture.
But on Friday (07NOV03), US District judge PERCY ANDERSON dissolved the temporary restraining order issued by another judge earlier this month (NOV03).
He also denied a request for an injunction which would have lasted until the lawsuit Casillo filed is resolved.
Anderson said the similarities Casillo identified do not qualify for protection under copyright law.10/11/2003 18:26
