The Oscar-winning actor bravely pulled 32-year-old Brett Kyle out of his Toyota vehicle after it ran off the road, flipped into a ditch and caught fire in front of Jamie's house on Monday (18Jan16). On Tuesday (19Jan16) the star met Brett's dad, and captured the moment with a sweet photo of the pair hugging in what appears to be Jamie's home on Instagram.

"Met the father of the young man from last night today," Jamie, who has two daughters himself, captioned the shot. "This is all that matters. That a man, a son, a brother's life was spared last night. God had his arms wrapped around all of us...No heroes...Just happy fathers."

Fans quickly poured their praises on their idol, with one user called blk.rican pointing out that his courageous deed took place on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day: "And this happens on MLK Day! This is what's it's all about! Way to go Jamie, you are a blessing!"

Jamie shared his view that he isn't a hero while talking to reporters during a press conference outside his home in Hidden Valley, California, on Tuesday (19Jan16). It was a natural reaction for him to take action when he saw Brett was in trouble, and luckily he had help from a passerby known just as Christian.

"I told (Brett) as we were talking, I said, 'Listen,' as I'm getting him out, 'You gotta help me get you out 'cause I don't want to have to leave you,'" Jamie recalled to reporters. "I said, 'You got angels around you. You have angels around you.' I kept saying this.

"I said (to Christian), 'That's God doing something right now.' We'll sit up one day and have some waters and talk about it."

After the accident Brett was arrested for reportedly driving under the influence of alcohol, and is currently being treated for severe neck, waist, check and head injuries.
