Jamie Foxx will do battle with Seth Macfarlane at the 2013 MTV Movie Awards after Django Unchained and Ted landed seven nominations each.

Quentin Tarantino's Western Django Unchained, starring Foxx in the title role, and MACFarlane's bawdy teddy-bear comedy are both up for Movie Of The Year, facing competition from Silver Linings Playbook, The Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises.

The Best Female Performance category will be a race between Anne Hathaway (Les Miserables), Mila Kunis (Ted), Jennifer Lawrence (Silver Linings Playbook), Emma Watson (The Perks of Being a Wallflower) and Rebel Wilson (Pitch Perfect).

Meanwhile, Foxx is up for Best Male Performance, as are Ben Affleck (Argo), Bradley Cooper (Silver Linings Playbook), Daniel Day-Lewis (Lincoln) and Channing Tatum (Magic Mike).

The Dark Knight Rises co-stars Marion Cotillard and Tom Hardy will fight it out to be named Best Villain, while Skyfall's Javier Bardem, The Avengers' Tom Hiddleston and Django Unchained star Leonardo DiCaprio are also nominated for the honour.

Film fans can begin voting for their picks online at Mtv.com, and the winners will be revealed when the show airs live on 14 April (13).
