Young British actor Jamie Bell has issued a scathing snub to the stage production of his hit movie BILLY ELLIOT - he refuses to have anything to do with it.

The 17-year-old insists he has no interest in the upcoming West End, London musical, even though his film-maker pal STEPHEN DALDRY - who gifted him the lead role in the 2000 movie about a talented ballet dancer trapped in a troubled family - has signed up to direct the show.

As he arrived at a glitzy party with Daldry at London's BRAZILIAN EMBASSY on Wednesday (12FEB02), Bell announced, "I have no involvement whatsoever and no interest."

The young star also mocked his older compatriot, by threatening never to work with him again.

When asked if he plans to reunite with his mentor on film, Bell teased, "No, no, never. I'd never work with him again."
