Officials in New York have declared their intention to seize a number of properties belonging to music mogul James 'Jimmy Henchman' Rosemond as he fights allegations he was involved in a multi-million dollar drug trafficking ring.
The hip-hop talent agent, 46, was detained in New York last month (Jun11), several weeks after a warrant was issued for his arrest, and he subsequently pleaded not guilty to a number of charges including witness tampering, obstruction of justice and intentionally conspiring to distribute and possess with intent to distribute five kilograms or more of cocaine.
He was back in the U.S. District Court in Brooklyn on Wednesday (06Jul11) to be indicted on 13 felony charges and prosecutors announced plans to seize his property empire, alleging a number of his houses were bought with ill-gotten gains and used to help run the alleged drug ring.
The indictment papers, obtained by The Smoking Gun, reveal authorities are looking to seize a $1 million (£625,000) condo in Manhattan, as well as a pair of apartments in Brooklyn.
