British actor James Corden has assured fans he is "a lot better" and is determined to present the Brit Awards as planned on Wednesday (20Feb13) after falling ill with tonsillitis.

The funnyman fell sick last week (ends17Feb13) and was forced to cut short rehearsals for the London music prizegiving on Monday (18Feb13) to rest his voice.

Corden prompted fears he would not be well enough to oversee the show at the U.K. capital's O2 Arena, but he has spoken out to reassure fans he will present the Brits, and is just feeling rundown due to his busy schedule.

He tells the London Evening Standard newspaper, "I have tonsillitis but I'm a lot better today than I was on Saturday. I'm over the worst of it.

"I'm filming my sitcom for the Bbc at the moment so I've had two things on at the same time, which is tough. But I'm incredibly lucky to do what I do so I really can't complain."
