James Corden thinks his wife is too good for him.

The 36-year-old actor married Julia Carey in 2012 and believes despite his blossoming career, his lover is too attractive and kind-hearted for him, agreeing with his pal, producer Ben Winston, who described her as a ''hot Mother Teresa''.

He gushed: ''She's not a fan of being talked about, but I will say she's the best person I've ever met, and the only thing that makes me doubt her is that she is married to me.

''She used to work for Save The Children and was on the third plane into Haiti after the earthquake. Ben said it best in his Best Man speech: 'She's like a hot Mother Teresa.' That's exactly how I see her.''

The couple - who have three-year-old son Max and four-month-old daughter Carey - recently relocated from London to the US for his new programme, 'The Late Late Show with James Corden' which begins on March 23, and although he confessed he was uneasy about the decision at first, he felt he had to take the job for the sake of his family.

He told the Daily Mail newspaper: ''Ultimately, I knew for certain that if I turned it down I would wake up one day and regret not having a go. I love acting so much and I know I'm going to miss it.

''There are probably only six people on the planet who have the choice to do what they like. The rest of us have to take the jobs to take care of those who depend on us for food and shelter.''
