Car making giant Ford has been criticised by a British advertising watchdog for implying one of its vehicles appeared in James Bond film Casino Royale. The Advertising Standards Agency (ASA) deemed the advert for the Focus Zetec "misleading" through its use of footage from the film, which featured the manufacturer's Mondeo model. The ASA says, "We considered that, because of the difficulty in differentiating between the two cars, the ad was likely to give the misleading impression that the Focus Zetec Climate was used in the film Casino Royale, which could make it more attractive to some viewers." However, Ford defended the commercial, stating it clearly advertised the Focus Zetec's name, price and image.
