James Bond producer Barbara Broccoli has become a board member of the U.K. Film Council.
Broccoli, who is currently working on new 007 movie Quantum of Solace, was appointed by British Culture Minister Margaret Hodge on Thursday (14Aug08).
And her addition has been warmly welcomed by the chairman of the board, Stewart Till.
He says, "She's produced some of the most successful films in the world.
"Her understanding of how big budget British films get financed out of Hollywood is extensive and unique.
"Barbara will be an enormous asset for the U.K. Film Council in our efforts to attract inward investment into the U.K. film production sector."
Broccoli and her brother Michael G. Wilson have produced a number of Bond films, including GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, Die Another Day, and Casino Royale.
