James Bond author SIR IAN FLEMING is to be the subject of a film biopic charting the thrill-seeking life that inspired his famous super-spy creation.

Warner Bros has given the green light to movie plans about the celebrated writer's life, tracing his journalism in the Soviet Union, work as an undercover agent for the British government and love of women.

The film, which is to be produced by CONFESSIONS OF A DANGEROUS MAN movie-maker Andrew Lazar, shows how similar the writer and his famous tuxedo-clad hero really were.

Lazar told entertainment magazine the Daily Variety, "He was an extraordinary thinker who helped shape what the modern spy was, both in his work at MI6 and in his novels."
