British singer/songwriter James Blunt never experiences stage fright thanks to his nerve-shredding wartime experiences in Kosovo.

Blunt served in the UK army before releasing his debut album Back To Bedlam, and vividly recalls the moments he came face-to-face with the enemy.

He says, "In reconnaissance, if you're doing your job right, you don't get seen. But occasionally, things don't go to plan.

"It's strange, you look at each other's faces and see, not fear, but the opposite. You suddenly feel elated that you're kicking into an almost instinctual reaction.

"It means that being onstage is a pretty calm environment by comparison."
