Singer and former British Army officer James Blunt is proud of his achievements serving in Kosovo. Before becoming a singer, Blunt was an armoured reconnaissance officer in the peacekeeping force in Kosovo and led 30,000 troops into the capital Pristina. Blunt says, "We saved thousands of lives in what we considered to be a just war. I was sceptical until the Serb villagers and the Albanians thanked us because we might be able to stop everyone killing each other. "I felt we acted in the best intentions, and there is no doubt that we saved a lot of lives. But there are elements of it that I struggle with. I went back to an Albanian family I had got to know, and they had gone."
