The script, which Love and Mercy star Dano co-wrote with his girlfriend Zoe Kazan, is based on a 1990 novel by Richard Ford about a teenage boy and his response to the breakup of his parents' marriage once the family moves to Montana. The film will begin shooting in Montana and Oklahoma in November (16).

Nightcrawler star Gyllenhaal next features in Tom Ford’s Nocturnal Animals, which made its debut at the Venice Film Festival earlier this month (Sep16) and will also play at the London Film Festival in October (16) before being released in the US in November (16), while Mulligan’s last big-screen appearance was in the 2015 drama Suffragette.
