A woman armed with a hammer has confronted TV reality star Jade Goody while she received hospital treatment.
Jade's publicist Max Clifford said her husband Jack Tweed has left her side for a few minutes when the intruder entered the room at Royal Marsden hospital in west London carrying the hammer.
Clifford claimed Goody had not been injured in the ordeal but was left "very shaken up".
The former Big Brother contestant has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and informed she may only have weeks to live.
Speaking to Radio 1, Clifford explained Tweed had left his wife's bedside to visit the hospital canteen at around 15:00 GMT yesterday.
Jade then woke up to find the woman leaning over her hospital bed.
"It's very distressing, particularly when you are so weak and so vulnerable, Clifford said.
"It has made her even keener to try and get home as soon as possible."
The Metropolitan police also confirmed a 41-year-old woman had been arrested following the incident.
A statement declared: "We can confirm that police were called to the Royal Marsden hospital Sunday afternoon by security to reports of an unknown woman being in a patient's room.
"Officers attended and a 41-year-old woman was searched and found in possession of a hammer and was arrested for possession of an offensive weapon and taken into custody at a west London police station where she remains in custody."
Jade's was christening alongside her two sons Bobby, five, and Freddy, four, earlier in the weekend.
