Actress Jada Pinkett Smith is urging women not to see her as a role model - because she's far from perfect.

The screen star, wife of rapper-turned-actor Will Smith, is a mother, actress and aspiring rock star who has just released a children's book, but she doesn't want her achievements to fool anyone into believing she's an ideal woman.

She says, "People tend to look at role models as being these perfect creatures, and I am so far from being perfect that it is not funny."

Jada admits her life is still very much a work in progress and she has no rock-solid plans for her own future.

She adds, "I hope to be doing things that I want to do, whether it's painting, or whether it's leaving here and living in Paris and walking buck-naked through the countryside."
