Jack White has landed a very special opening act for his upcoming Nashville, Tennessee concert - country legend Loretta Lynn has agreed to perform at the Bridgestone Arena on 28 January (15).

The Coal Miner's Daughter singer, 82, and White became friends when he signed on to produce Lynn's acclaimed Van Lear Rose in 2004, and they recorded the duet Portland, Oregon together.

And now she has given White the country music seal of approval by agreeing to join him onstage for an upcoming show in White's adopted Nashville.

Lynn even cancelled a pair of previously scheduled Texas dates in order to open for White.

Announcing the gig on Thursday (11Dec14), a representative for Lynn says, "Loretta Lynn has been presented with a unique opportunity to play a special engagement in Nashville with Jack White to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the multi-Grammy Award-winning album Van Lear Rose, which they produced together."
