Hollywood funnyman Jack Black has promised to keep making movies in the comedy genre - because he would be a disastrous dramatic actor.

The Tenacious D frontman was offered a part in a forthcoming biopic about the late Welsh poet DYLAN THOMAS, but turned it down to avoid committing "career suicide".

Jack says, "Someone wanted me to play Thomas - not in the film MICK JAGGER's producing, another one - and I thought the worst thing I could do was a period piece with an English accent where I cry in a few scenes.

"That sounds like career suicide to me."
