Isabella Rossellini has a special gift for her late father Roberto Rossellini's 100th birthday in May (08MAY06) - she has written a book in his

honour.

The BLUE VELVET star launched IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER, THE DAUGHTER, AND THE HOLY SPIRITS at the Berlin International Film Festival today (13FEB06), which includes scripts, illustrations, letters, personal memories and photos.

She charts the life of the acclaimed director, his love for Isabella's mother, Ingrid Bergman, and the relationships with famous friends including Federico Fellini and Eric Rohmer.

The work remembers the film-maker as a loving family man, as well as the maverick director of films like STROMBOLI.

The actress says, "I wish he would have accompanied me a little longer in my life, I wish he had got to know my children and could have been a grandfather."

Rossellini has also written a script for a movie called MY DAD IS 100 YEARS OLD, in which she plays different roles.

She says, "I wanted to show how I feel when I see my father's movies fading. My father is starting to fall into oblivion... drip, drip, drip... he disappears from memory."
