The mother of late Inxs star Michael Hutchence has died at the age of 84.
Patricia Glassop passed away on Tuesday (21Sep10). No further details about her death were available as WENN went to press but the sad news was confirmed by Hutchence's brother Rhett, who posted a statement on the star's website.
It reads, "Sadly yesterday my 84 year old mother Patricia passed on. She looked beautiful, and I was happy to have been there for her. Thank you for all your kind words and wishes. Sincerely, Rhett Hutchence".
The Australian rocker died in 1997 and his daughter Tiger Lily was left orphaned when her mother Paula Yates passed away following a drug overdose in 2000. The youngster was adopted by Yates' ex-husband Bob Geldof and was raised in London with her half-sisters.
Glassop was a fierce critic of Geldof over the last few years and accused him of cutting Tiger Lily off from her Australian relatives.
The news comes on the same day it was revealed INXS have become embroiled in a legal battle with an investment company over the rights to Hutchence's image and songs. Tiger Lily is rumoured to be the beneficiary of the firm, but bosses have refused to comment on who is behind the company.
