Post Pop Depression will release a self-titled album in March (16) and tour, according to The New York Times.

The punk icon reveals he and Homme started recording together at the beginning of last year (15) in secret and without a record label.

"We paid for whatever ourselves," he said, "but it was made to be heard - not to be some quirky thing that we did with our own money."

And Iggy couldn't be happier with the end product, claiming his latest collaborator "took me to a place I'd never been."

The Post Pop Depression album was mainly recorded at Homme's home studio in Joshua Tree, California.

The group also features Dead Weather and Queens Of The Stone Age guitarist Dean Fertita and Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders.

Paying tribute to Iggy, Homme tells the publication, "He is the last one of the one-of-a-kinds. This is a much deserved victory lap for a man who's not sure if he won. But he did."
