Iggy Azalea has admitted she was surprised to discover that some of her friends in the industry didn't want to know her when she was going through mental issues.
Iggy Azalea's friends ''acted like she didn't exist'' while she was battling her demons.
The 27-year-old rapper has admitted she can count the people who have been there for her on one hand - including Demi Lovato, Kesha and Quavo - because a lot of her other showbiz pals dropped her while she was dealing with her mental health issues.
Speaking to Billboard magazine, she explained: ''Everyone has pretty much acted like I don't exist. People like Charli [XCX], I'll see them in passing and say hi, there's no bad blood about that. But there definitely have been some people that I feel like, 'Okay, wow, you're really gonna completely disassociate because of other people's perceptions?' If I'm being honest, the only people who have been there for me are Quavo, Kesha and Demi.''
The 'Fancy' hitmaker is on the verge of making a music comeback but her new management team forced her into a two-week stay at a mental retreat because they wanted to make sure she was ready to throw herself back into the spotlight again.
She explained: ''They were like, 'We need you to go and speak to these people and make sure that you're mentally prepared to come out with new music. I didn't want to go there. I didn't like the idea of being sent away somewhere. I was p***ed.''
But she soon came round to the idea and realised she did have anger issues that were preventing her from reaching ''the top of the mountain.''
She said of her stay at the retreat in Arizona: ''I've never really sat down and had an honest conversation with professional people. It was good to say something to somebody who could give me the tools and information on how to make my life manageable. So it was really useful -- I'm glad that I went.''
