The Thor star is developing Brazza, about a Congolese man living in Paris who returns to his homeland following his father's suspicious death, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"I am so proud to be working on this African set drama and to introduce a global audience to a world and culture that resonates so vibrantly with me," Elba says.

"Brazza will be a visceral series exploring one family's feud across Africa and Europe," executive producer Rola Bauer adds. "Idris' lens into this narrative is quite inspirational and as Africa awakens, marching boldly into the first world, we could not have asked for better partners in Idris and his team."

It is unclear if the 44-year-old will appear in the show.

Elba has been expanding his production resume in recent years and has worked on several TV shows and movies including Luther, Demons Never Die, Beasts of No Nation, which he filmed in Ghana, No Good Deed, and mini-series Guerrilla, which is due out next year (17).
