British comedy actor Hugh Laurie is launching himself in America after landing the lead role in a new medical drama - and he won't be playing nice.

The actor, who is best known as a bumbling royal in the BLACKADDER series and Stephen Fry's former TV partner, will play nasty doctor GREGORY HOUSE in new show HOUSE.

Laurie has already scored success in Hollywood for his role as the father in the Stuart Little films.
